A recall is implemented by the manufacturer when an aspect of the design or construction of a product may affect the safe operation of the vehicle. BMW operates inline with the code of practice on safety defects, in accordance with the Department for Transport and the representative Trade Associations and in compliance with the UK General Product Safety Regulations 2005.

This can be found on the main frame of the motorcycle. It can also be found in the V5 registration document of the vehicle.
Is there any charge for the cost of repairs on the recall?
No, BMW covers the entire cost of the recall.
